Concord Motorsports Park September 23, 2006 With high hopes and big plans for the upcoming night we set ot for Concord Motorsports Park, NC. It is in the mid 80's, much better than the Summer Shootout, and a little humid. Tonight is Kenny's first race at Concord, but we are confident based on his results in a test session prior to today. Unfortunately all does not go as planned. At the beginning of the night Kenny drew ball number 78 out of 80 placing him last. In the first two practices Kenny and the crew were struggling to get a grip on the cars handling. As soon as they thought they had a good setup the track would cool down and the setup would become obsolete. Edging into 6th of 7 in the qualifying heat he locked in 15th of 16 for the main feature. With no more practices left, the crew gave it there best, and sent Kenny out on what they hoped would be the setup to win. Within 12 laps of the 15 lap feature, Kenny made his way to about 10th when a caution came out. On the restart, a lapped car in front of him checked up and the driver behind him spun him out. With only 3 laps to go, Kenny couldn't make up the lost time and had to stlle for a 14th place finish. Very disappointed and frustrated, we left the track to get a good night sleep. "Even though it was a hard night, I still had fun and look forward to coming back," Kenny said.
