Project Celica
Step 5: Suspension Rehab

9.17.10

With the car completely gutted and the brakes torn apart, we decided it was time to make some adjustments to the suspension of the car.  Most street cars are built for a comfortable, smooth and quiet ride.  Unfortunately, this type of setup is not very effective or necessary when it comes to racing.  In order to make our Celica handle properly on the track, we had to make several changes to the cars suspension.  Our first step was to cut down the stock coils.  This stiffens the spring rates of the car as well as lowering the car.  Both of these effects make a positive impact on the cars handling.

Next: Replacing those nasty bushings!
