In a return trip to Rockingham Speedway, Kenny and Andy set their sights on victory in the first Bandolero race of 2009 at the legendary track.  Today, however, both boys will be driving the same car.   A split feature between age groups will allow the switch, but it must be quick because the events are slotted to run consecutively.

 

Andy begins the Young Gun feature race in fourth place.  After a bump from another driver, Andy is relegated to seventh place.  Through patience, and smart driving, Andy makes his way back to 5th place where he'll stay for the checkered flag.  Now it's time to make the swap.

 

With lightning speed the Brown Bros. switch places, and Kenny peels off for the Outlaw feature race.  Because the original intention for the day was for only Andy to drive, Kenny did not compete in any practice or the qualifying heats, and thus began the race in last place.  Working around a few drivers, he aimed at the lead.  Slowly closing the gap, he makes a move for the lead but miss-judges the turn and hops over a curb.  Kenny then slides across the track and into the leader, damaging both cars too much to continue.
