Concord Motorsport Park: March 14th
After last week's rain-out, all the drivers are itching to get back on track. Andy can't wait to finish where he left off last year, and is ready to hit the newly renovated Concord 1/4 mile track featuring a large curb along the inside of the turns. The night begins with some signs of rain, but the track remains dry enough to keep the racing going.
Today, Andy draws a 2nd place starting spot in the second qualifying heat. After a short practice, the #14 Bandolero races for a starting spot in the feature. Andy finishes 3rd, which will give him a 6th place starting position in the A-Main.
The race begins and Andy holds his own. Taking advantage of a spin in front of him, he ably avoids the whirling cars to gain 3rd place. Here he holds off the #17 car for 4 laps to receive a 3rd place finish! This is Andy's 1st Top 3 of his career and a great start to the 2008 season.
