 Happy 4^th of July!  It is hot, hot, unbearably hot, and humid today.  Standing on the asphalt takes your breath away.  The track is selling 40 lb. bags of ice for $15.00.  What a bargain…we’ll take it!  Our sponsor, Terri Church, and her family, watch from an air-conditioned suite above the track.  Kenny will start on the pole in the heat race, but the car is tight and he loses positions.  Fortunately, he finishes in 5^th place which will take him straight to the A feature, starting in 7^th position.  Tonight’s feature race has more action than a fireworks display.  Mid-race, Kenny is stuffed, intentionally, into the wall at turn four.  There is major damage to the car but Kenny is determined to finish this race.  One car after another is taken out.  With only 13 cars left on the track, Kenny has a respectable 8^th place finish.  Crew chief, Andy, surveys the damage after the race.  “We sure have a lot of work to do!” he says.
