Kenny and Paul Menard (notice Kenny's hat) It's another hot night at the Speedway, where the air temperature is a "sauna-like" 100 degrees! Kenny has the good fortune of drawing a second place start in his heat race. He finishes 2nd in the heat, passes in tech, and will be on the pole for the A-feature. We all feel confident that this is the night for a top-five finish, so we take a walk over to talk with Busch driver, Paul Menard, who is racing a Legends car tonight...what a nice guy! The A-feature begins with a great start, but, good fortune quickly turns to bad as the #14 Bandolero is hit by another car in turn 3, which loosens Kenny up, and he is passed by three cars. Coming into turn 1, Kenny is slammed by another car into his left side which terminally damages the brakes. Kenny drives into the barrels to slow the car down, looses his front bumper, and is black-flagged. He expertly works his way back to the pits, without brakes, to get the car fixed and back on track. Unfortunately, it is the end of the race for Kenny tonight. He finishes 19th, which is a hard blow for both the driver and the team.
