Quaker Steak & Lube Summer Shootout: Race 1

The day is steeped in anticipation and excitement. Kenny returns to the Summer Shootout at Lowe's Motor Speedway for the 3rd time. This time, however, he returns in the outlaw class of drivers 16 and older. The Twister Bandolero has never looked better, and Kenny is ready to tear up the track. Unfortunately, Kenny has to start at the rear of his heat. However, this does not phase him, as he finishes in 4th earning him an 8th place starting position in the feature.
The feature race begins well, and Kenny eventually works his way up to the 4th position. But, as the race continues, an ignition system problem slowly cripples the #14 Bandolero. In 5th position with 2 laps to go, Kenny is passed by two more cars, and finishes in 7th. A frustrating finish for Kenny. However, he is given 6th place points because the winner of the race was disqualified in post race inspection.
