2009 LMS Summer Shootout Race 9

          Clear skies and an excited race team bring hope for a good day at the Lowe's Summer Shootout. With a bad ball pick, Andy starts 10th out of 12 in the heat race. After two fast laps, Andy moves through the field and assumes the lead. He keeps the lead until a car passes him under the white flag and Andy settles for second in the heat.

The 2nd place heat finish places Andy on the pole for the feature once again. After seven laps of feature racing, Andy maintains third and pulls away from the rest of the field with the top three. After several restarts, Andy loses three positions on a bad restart and eventually falls to 7th on the last lap. After passing for 6th in the last turn, Andy catches 5th and misses the position by an bumper. A frustrating 6th place finish makes for a long week of tuning on the car for next week.
