Winter Heat Series 2007-2008: Race 1

It's been a long break from racing, but the Yellow #14 is ready to hit the track once again.  This year it is fielded by rookie Andy Brown.  With a fresh coat of paint, and a winning attitude, we headed off to Lowe's Motor Speedway.

The weather today is beautiful, and we are joined by our dear friend Eric.  What else could be better?  The crew gets Andy out for practice, and everything goes well.  Andy is quickly learning and improving his times with the coaching of his crew chief Kenny.  A lucky draw places Andy in 1st place for the heat race.  Although he held his own, he was overtaken by faster cars and finished in 6th.  After another qualifying heat, Andy has placed himself in the outside of 4th row.

Andy begins the feature well, and maintains his place.  The car is loose, and every corner is a fight to keep the car on the road.  Every lap is a challnge but Andy does a good job avoiding wrecks and staying on track.  In the end he pulls off a 9th place finish.  A top 10 is very respectable for a first race on that track.
