Today is the last race in the Winter Heat Series of 2006-7, and it couldn't be more interesting. Today, a doubleheader is scheduled to make up for the fourth race, which was rained out. Also, Kenny is tied in a heated battle for fourth place in the points. The outcome of today’s events holds a lot in the balance.
In the first A-main race Kenny starts in 7th. Racing through traffic, he finishes in 5th place. A respectable finish, but the crew is worried. It seems that old tires are affecting the performance of the car. There is nothing to do but see if Kenny can pull through with a car that is obviously losing its handling. In the second A-Main Kenny starts on the second row outside. Things look good as Kenny keeps pace for the first few laps. However, it becomes apparent that the handling of the #14 car is deteriorating, and Kenny is trying his best to keep up with the leaders. After falling to 5th place, an impatient driver spins Kenny. Kenny is resigned to 7th place, where he finishes. It is a disappointing day for Ken Brown Racing. *Update* Kenny has been officially given 5th place overall in the Young Guns Winter Heat Series!
